Our first country visit was to Swaziland where we were hosted by the National Emergency Council on HIV and AIDS (NERCHA), the body that coordinates Swaziland’s response to HIV and AIDS. We heard the concerns of partners from UNAIDS, UNICEF and several NGOs, who are all asking ‘what works and what does not work?” in preventing HIV.
Next we held an intensive workshop in Johannesburg with representatives of all the organisations working with adolescents and prisoners and experts in the prevention field.
Introductory visits are planned for August in Namibia, Lesotho, Zambia and Tanzania.
The big date we are all looking forward to is the first Steering Board meeting.
