Key populations and HIV prevention research

Research is fundamental to providing the evidence we need to strengthen HIV services for adolescents and key populations, like men who have sex with men (MSM), drug users and sex workers.

EHPSA commissioned Nordic Consulting Group to look at the landscape of HIV research for key and vulnerable populations in eastern and southern Africa (ESA). The study examines research policy and priorities, the institutional organisation of research, and the contribution of civil society organisations in research. The study uses EHPSA as a case study for exploring the role of key populations in HIV research.
